Meet Dr. Karla Cornejo
With more than a decade of experience spanning frontline medicine, emergency care, and medical leadership, Dr. Karla Cornejo brings a depth of clinical experience that shapes the way she cares for her patients today. She served as Medical Supervisor of the Emergency Department at one of Panama's most recognized private hospitals, Clínica Hospital San Fernando, where she worked under rigorous international standards of quality and patient safety established by Joint Commission International (JCI), while caring for local and international patients, including expatriates and U.S. veterans. She later served as Medical Director of Clinics for one of Panama's largest healthcare networks, MiniMed, overseeing clinical operations and standards of care across its multiple clinic locations. Today, Dr. Cornejo brings that experience to NEXOCARE through a more personal and continuous model of medicine. As a primary care physician, she builds long-term relationships with her patients, taking the time to understand their medical history, follow their health over time, provide preventive care, and guide them through their healthcare needs in Panama. For Dr. Cornejo, primary care means being the physician her patients know, trust, and can turn to when they need care.
